Architecture

Cacapon South boasts a number of distinctive architectural styles among over 100 homes already completed.  Wooded homesites tend toward log cabin designs (Click here for examples) or the chalet look, which is best exemplified by the Patrick Series of Chalets which offer flexible floor plans and designs. (Click here for examples). For an environmentally friendly home, the Pedestal Home offers many design options to suite lifestyles. (Click here for examples). However, many homeowners have opted for a more traditional or transitional look in their designs particularly on homesites that are located on open lots.  (Click here for examples.)

The protective Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions for each section of Cacapon South outline the minimum square foot sizes of homes, accepted building materials and general guidance for design and site selection.

The MDG staff is happy to assist prospective buyers with suggestions for designs and materials that are available at the Building Resource Center located in MDG’s office. MDG’s Director of Development, Justin Cowles, is a licensed WV General Contractor and a certified Residential Building Inspector who will review the Architectural Guidelines with each buyer and help guide them through the building process.
